C.M. v. Montgomery County Intermediate Unit 23, No. 2012 cv 1608 (E.D. PA)

Attorney Stanczak represented  a mother and her pre-school age autistic child in asserting that the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit 23 (MCIU) failed to adequately evaluate the student, failed to address identified needs, including the child’s need for feeding therapy, and failed to timely provide an appropriate IEP to the student.  The Hearing Officer awarded substantial compensatory educational services to the child and ordered the MCIU to take immediate steps to address the deficiencies in the child’s IEP.  The IU’s partial appeal to the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania was favorably resolved.
